Origin of urushi used for painting and coloring chopsticks is long and the sap of the urushi tree has been used for 9000 years in Japan as a lacquer finish for high-quality furniture or tableware as well as a coating and preserve for temples or cultural artifacts.
The beauty of urushi color is one of the major features expressing the depth of sensitivity that Japanese have for colors.
We have created the urushi lacquerware product to be more familiar incorporating beautiful color into the chopsticks by fully utilizing our unique technology from our experience.
A highly respected and mastered craft skill is added into the chopsticks which is the core of Japanese culture and we will express the new Japanese style to the world. We aim for showing how wonderful Japanese culture and traditional skill is through chopsticks considering difficulty of the industries to pass onto the next generation and we are willing to take a part of the cultural transition towards the future.
