Forests across Japan, left untended and unharvested,
are slowly falling into neglect.
Once meant to nurture abundance,
these forests are now quietly losing their strength.
This decline is beginning to cast a shadow over the lives of wildlife,
and over the environments that support our food
—agriculture, fisheries, and more.
As one of the few specialized chopstick manufacturers in Japan,
we want to help change this situation, even if only a little.
Of the 20 billion disposable chopsticks used each year, most are imported from overseas.
That is why we chose to re-examine the true value of Japanese wood.
Trees grown in Kagawa are carefully processed
in our Kagawa factory using solar energy.
From this circular approach to manufacturing was born
“HASHI – SUSTAINABLE –.”
In-house Factory (Kagawa, Japan)
This single pair of chopsticks is a small step toward restoring life to Japan’s forests,
and gently passing the richness of food
on to the next generation.
We believe this wholeheartedly:
The future can be changed,
starting with just one pair of chopsticks.
Yorozu creates sushi that reaches the peak of flavor through the art of aging. In its serene space, where every movement reflects deep respect for ingredients, our chopsticks were chosen to present each delicate piece even more beautifully. Their adoption is a testament to the chefs’ trust in our uncompromising quality.
Ryugin pushes the boundaries of Japanese cuisine by weaving together tradition and innovation. Our chopsticks are used as tools that accompany each refined dish. They were selected for their ability to blend seamlessly into the restaurant’s world without disturbing the lingering aftertaste of the cuisine.
Motoyoshi pursues tempura that brings out the true essence of each ingredient. Our chopsticks are used to convey the subtle differences in batter lightness and precise heat control. Their selection reflects recognition of the quality required to support such delicate cuisine.
